CSIR IICT Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT), Hyderabad, is engaging project staff for several sponsored research programmes through notification PS/08/2026. The work spans chemistry, materials, engineering and project support, with each position code tied to a named project. These are temporary project engagements, so you should choose the code that matches your research interests as well as your background.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Associate I: projects include photoredox catalysis, biomass conversion, multiferroic materials, carbon capture, coal analysis, aromatic plants and pesticide formulations.
• Project Associate I in materials and computation: other assignments cover energy harvesting, perovskite solar cells, smart windows, pharmaceutical intermediates, computational catalysis and AI-guided materials discovery.
• Project Associate I in engineering: projects also cover nano-silica, gasified waste, biomass-derived chemicals, harmful algal bloom control and lubricant oil for aircraft trials.
• Project Associate II: assignments include aromatic plants, Cyrene production, solvent design, nitrile production, carbon utilisation, butane diol, pentane diol, nano-silica and lubricant oil.
• Senior Project Associate: these positions belong to multiferroic materials, hydrogen-leak sensors, energy-harvesting materials and carbon-capture projects.
• Principal Project Associate: this assignment belongs to the intensified-absorber project for capturing carbon dioxide from flue gases.
• Project Assistant II: support positions are linked to the multiferroic-materials project and the CSIR Integrated Skill Initiative. The skill initiative also has a Project Associate I position.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial engagement: the appointment can run for up to six months at first. Its continuation or early end depends on the sponsored project, your performance and your conduct.
• Project appointment: this engagement gives you no right to a permanent position at CSIR-IICT. Keep that condition in mind when considering a move from another job.
• Earlier CSIR service: anyone who has already completed six years in the listed CSIR project positions cannot take up this engagement. If you have served for less time, your remaining tenure is limited to the balance before that overall cap.
• Institutional discretion: IICT may leave a position unfilled or change the available positions at selection. It may also withdraw an award if it finds a discrepancy in your candidature.
• Travel: the institute will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending. You need to plan the journey at your own expense.
• Correspondence: the notice says interim enquiries and correspondence will not be considered.
