Post-wise Duties

Senior Residents

You will support patient care and departmental teaching in your assigned specialty. Clinical work varies between medical, surgical, diagnostic and emergency departments, while Hospital Administration has a hospital-service focus.

Senior Demonstrators

You will support subject teaching and practical demonstrations in Anatomy or Pharmacology. Your work centres on helping learners understand the subject and supporting the department’s academic activities.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Residency tenure: The overall Senior Residency period is limited to three years, including previous non-academic residency in the same specialty at another teaching institution. Your earlier service reduces the remaining period available here.
• Extension: Performance is reviewed after each year. Continuation beyond the first or second year depends on the review committee’s recommendation.
• Reserved posts: If a suitable applicant from the advertised category is unavailable, the institute may consider another category for an initial engagement of up to 44 days. Further extension follows the applicable government rules.
