All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar (AIIMS Bhubaneswar) is recruiting a contractual team for the ESCHAR Trial in its Department of Pediatrics. Funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the study compares combination treatment for scrub typhus in children with azithromycin or doxycycline used alone. The project runs under Dr. Rashmi Ranjan Das, Professor of Pediatrics, and uses a double-blind randomised trial design.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical): this is the scientific appointment within the ESCHAR project team. Check the non-medical designation when identifying the post on your application.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: all advertised appointments are for 11 months. Any continuation depends on the project's needs, your performance review and approval from the competent authority.
• Nature of appointment: these are temporary project contracts. They do not create a claim to a regular job, another project assignment, a transfer or absorption at AIIMS, the funding agency or a Government of India department.
• Contract benefits: provident fund, pension, leave travel concession and medical-claim benefits are not available under this engagement. You must give an undertaking acknowledging these terms when you join.
• Notice period: either side can end the engagement by giving one month's notice. The institute may end the contract earlier by paying the equivalent contractual amount, but project staff must serve the full notice period and cannot pay in place of serving it.
• Leave: the funding agency's or institute's policy for AIIMS Bhubaneswar contract staff will apply.
• Recruitment decisions: AIIMS may modify or cancel the process and may accept or reject applications. The Director's decision is final; canvassing can disqualify you.
