• Assess and stabilize critically ill patients using emergency care, intubation, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Manage patients under emergency observation and coordinate further care with the treating oncology unit.
• Keep accurate patient records on paper and in the electronic medical record system.
• Explain patient conditions and likely outcomes to patients, families and attendants.
• Handle medicolegal cases according to hospital protocols.
• Monitor patients from arrival until ward admission, transfer or discharge under hospital protocols.
• Track and report emergency department performance indicators under National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) guidelines.
• Guide and train the Casualty Medical Officer and staff in emergency room management.
