UoA JRF Monsoon Mission Recruitment 2026: Overview

University of Allahabad (UoA) is recruiting a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at its K. Banerjee Centre of Atmospheric and Ocean Studies in Prayagraj. This project appointment comes under a National Monsoon Mission grant from the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, under the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES).

The project studies summer monsoon predictability over Central India, with particular attention to Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, using the latest version of India’s dynamical prediction system. Those states define the study’s geographical focus; the recruiting centre is at the university in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial appointment: You join for one year. Continued engagement depends on satisfactory performance in periodic work reviews and cannot run beyond the project.
• Fellowship framework: The fellowship follows the Department of Science and Technology (DST) orders identified in the notice, together with MoES guidelines. These rules also govern movement from JRF to Senior Research Fellow (SRF); you should not treat that change as an unconditional promise.
• Interview travel: The project will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending the interview. You will need to make your own arrangements if called.
