BRIC-Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is hiring project research and technical staff for studies in maternal health, tuberculosis, neonatal sepsis and pathogen detection. These short-term project appointments bring together data analysis, public health research and laboratory work at Faridabad.

THSTI is part of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC), under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology. The projects connect research teams with clinical and laboratory questions, so your day-to-day work depends on the particular project named against your post.

• Project Research Scientist-I, Biostatistics: maternal and fetal health research under Dr. Ramachandran T., linked to an analysis of hypothyroidism in pregnancy.
• Project Research Scientist-I, Public Health: research on antenatal ultrasound and pregnancy-monitoring tools within the same project group.
• Project Technical Support-III, Data Analysis: statistical datasets and research reporting for the pregnancy study.
• Project Research Scientist-I, Tuberculosis: Dr. Ramandeep Singh's project on leucine metabolism and new interventions against Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
• Project Technical Support-III, Diagnostics: Dr. Susmita Chaudhuri's work on portable detection tools for meningitis and sepsis.

Post-wise Duties

Project Research Scientist-I Biostatistics

You will analyse clinical research data, work with data managers and statisticians, and support scientific writing. Study tracking, ethics submissions and data-query resolution also form part of the role.

Project Research Scientist-I Public Health

You will design and conduct mixed-method studies on antenatal ultrasound. You will also organise discussions across disciplines about using new pregnancy-monitoring tools in India.

Project Technical Support-III Data Analysis

You will clean and combine research datasets, document changes and prepare figures and tables for manuscripts. The work also includes statistical analysis and checks on data quality.

Project Research Scientist-I Tuberculosis

You will work with RNA sequencing and proteomics data, laboratory cultures and animal studies. Biochemical testing and enzyme-inhibition experiments support the project's research questions.

Project Technical Support-III Diagnostics

You will help develop paper-based electrochemical sensing tools and use molecular biology methods. The work connects bioanalytical techniques with portable diagnostic platforms.

Technical Assistant Neo-sepsis

You will extract DNA from samples, help maintain the laboratory and manage sample storage. The role also includes collecting samples from collaborating sites and entering research data.

Project Technical Support-II Viral Detection

You will support viral nucleic-acid detection work using laboratory methods such as gel electrophoresis, molecular assays and serological assays.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: These are short-term appointments. Extensions depend on your performance and the remaining project tenure, and the appointment gives no claim to regular employment.
• Work setting: The pregnancy-study positions are expressly based at THSTI. The Technical Assistant role also involves travel to collaborating sites for sample collection.
• Updates: Results and recruitment notices will appear on the institute's website. Individual communications will be sent by email.

Application Submission Notes

Report at 9:00 am on your post's scheduled day to THSTI, NCR Biotech Science Cluster, 3rd Milestone, Faridabad-Gurugram Expressway, Faridabad 121001. Late arrivals will not be considered.

At reception, you must deposit your mobile phone with valid identity proof. The institute returns them after the selection process is complete.

• Analyse clinical and public health data for the assigned research project.
• Clean pooled datasets and document statistical analysis methods.
• Prepare scientific figures, tables and research reports.
• Conduct molecular, biochemical or diagnostic assays for the assigned laboratory project.
• Handle research samples and maintain laboratory supplies and storage records.
• Coordinate study activities, ethics paperwork or stakeholder meetings as relevant to the role.
• Collect samples from collaborating sites when assigned to the Neo-sepsis Technical Assistant post.
