NITR JRF Computer Science Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NITR), under the Ministry of Education, is recruiting a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in its Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The fellowship supports the SERB ANRF-funded project, Design and Development of an Affordable Edge AI-Powered Robotic Therapeutic Intervention System for Motor-Impaired Patients. The project focuses on an affordable rehabilitation system that connects artificial intelligence with robotic therapy, with clinical and home-based use in view.

Professor Anup Nandy leads the project, with Professor Asim Kumar Naskar from Electrical Engineering as co-investigator. Hospital collaborations will support real-world validation of the system, with the project aiming to make therapy more accessible in underserved areas.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project appointment: This is a contractual research engagement at NIT Rourkela. The advertised tenure is 3 years and 8 months, and the appointment ends with the project, whose stated closing date is 14 June 2030.
• PhD option: You may be considered for PhD enrolment under the institute's rules. The fellowship itself does not guarantee admission.
