NDUAT Multi-Post Agriculture Recruitment 2026: Overview
Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology (NDUAT), Kumarganj, Ayodhya, is recruiting project staff through a walk-in drive. The work spans fruit science, crop improvement, vegetable science and fisheries, with separate projects based in university departments and crop research centres in Uttar Pradesh. These are temporary contractual engagements linked to research projects.
Posts and Disciplines
- Young Professional-I, bael research: This project belongs to the Fruit Science Department in the College of Horticulture and Forestry. It examines molecular and biochemical pathways linked to fruit dropping and cracking in bael.
- Young Professional-I, Kalanamak rice: The Crop Research Centre at Masodha, Ayodhya, hosts research on new genotypes and lines, together with seed multiplication of Kalanamak rice in Uttar Pradesh.
- Junior Research Fellow, okra improvement: The Vegetable Science Department in the College of Horticulture and Forestry hosts work on induced mutations to develop yellow vein mosaic virus resistance in the high-yielding okra variety NDO-10.
- Junior Research Assistant, river ecology: The College of Fisheries project develops an Index of Biotic Integrity to assess the ecological condition of the Saryu and Gomti rivers in eastern Uttar Pradesh, where human activities place stress on river health.
- Young Professional-I, green manure crops: The Crop Research Centre at Ghaghraghat, Bahraich, hosts a project on suitable sunnhemp and dhaincha varieties. Its scope also includes a seed production and distribution model for Uttar Pradesh.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Nature of engagement: All positions are temporary and contractual. You should assess the project and its host unit when choosing the role you want to pursue.

- JRA domicile: The research assistantship is restricted to Indian citizens who reside in Uttar Pradesh.

Application Submission Notes
The walk-in venue is the Directorate of Research, NDUAT, Kumarganj, Ayodhya. Reporting for every project is from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, including the projects whose interviews begin later in the day.
The project interview slots are 11:00 AM for bael, 12:00 noon for Kalanamak rice, 1:00 PM for okra, 2:00 PM for river ecology and 3:00 PM for green manure crops. Use the application proforma attached to the notice and identify the post you are applying for.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Relevant M.Sc. in Agriculture, Horticulture, Fruit Science, Life Science, Vegetable Science or Genetics and Plant Breeding, or M.F.Sc., depending on the project. See the post-wise qualifications.
Preferred Qualification
Bael project: experience in fruit breeding, plant breeding or plant biotechnology. JRA: at least one research paper in an SCI journal.
Required Skills
JRA desirable skills: fish identification, water-quality analysis, statistical software, data collection and interpretation, manuscript preparation, and independent work with minimal PI or Co-PI support.

Pay Scale
YP-I: Rs. 30,000 per month. JRF: Rs. 37,000 per month for the first two years; Rs. 42,000 after redesignation as SRF by the committee. JRA: Rs. 25,000 per month for two years and Rs. 28,000 in the third year.
