MPPGCL ITI Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Overview

Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL) is offering ITI Apprentice training at Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Station (SGTPS), Birsinghpur, in Umaria district. The programme places trade learners inside a working thermal-power facility, where electrical, mechanical, instrumentation and computer-support teams keep the station running. This is apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, so it gives you supervised industrial exposure rather than a regular MPPGCL appointment.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Electrician: practical exposure to electrical equipment, wiring, protection systems and safe isolation work inside the station.
  • Welder (Gas Cutter): workshop training in joining, cutting and repairing metal parts used around plant systems.
  • Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA): support work involving office computers, digital records and routine data handling.
  • Fitter: mechanical fitting, assembly and upkeep of plant components under technical supervision.
  • Turner: machine-shop practice involving turning operations, measurements and component finishing.
  • Instrument Mechanic: exposure to the instruments that measure and control plant processes.
  • Electronics Mechanic: work with electronic devices, circuits and control-support equipment used by station teams.

Post-wise Duties

Electrician and Electronics Mechanic

You will help inspect circuits, tools and equipment while learning electrical and electronic safety routines. Your practical work will follow the station's permit and supervision system.

Welder and Fitter

You will practise cutting, joining, fitting and checking components in a power-station workshop environment. Accuracy, tool care and protective equipment are central to both trades.

COPA

You will support computer-based records and routine data work, learning how technical and administrative teams organise information. The role also builds everyday office-software discipline.

Turner

You will learn to set up jobs, take measurements and produce components under a qualified workshop instructor. Careful machine operation and dimensional checks are key parts of the training.

Instrument Mechanic

You will observe and assist with measurement and control instruments used in plant operations. The trade connects workshop skills with process monitoring.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Domicile: The drive is restricted to candidates who are original residents of Madhya Pradesh.
  • Training status: The engagement is for apprenticeship training and does not create a right to regular employment with MPPGCL after completion.
  • Tenure: The apprenticeship runs for a fixed one-year training period under the applicable apprenticeship rules.
  • Application completeness: Both the portal application and the prescribed paper application are compulsory; completing only one part can make the application ineligible.

Application Submission Notes

After applying through the apprenticeship portal for the Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Station Birsinghpur establishment, send the prescribed paper form with supporting copies to Office of the Superintending Engineer (Training), SGTPS, MPPGCL, Birsinghpur, District Umaria, Madhya Pradesh 484551. Keep your portal registration and submitted-form records together, because the notification treats the online and offline submissions as parts of the same application.

Responsibilities

  • Attend practical training regularly in the allotted ITI trade
  • Follow plant, workshop and electrical safety instructions
  • Use tools and equipment only under authorised supervision
  • Keep training records, work logs and assigned documentation updated
  • Assist technical teams with supervised inspection and maintenance tasks
  • Maintain tools, protective equipment and the work area properly
  • Complete trade exercises and assessments during the training period
