KEA Warder KK Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Karnataka Prisons and Correctional Services Department is recruiting Jailors, Warders, Warder cum Nursing staff and Second Grade Teachers (Instructor Grade-II) in the Kalyana Karnataka (KK) cadre. Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is conducting the recruitment examination for these direct appointments. This is the Kalyana Karnataka cadre notice; the department’s Residual Parent Cadre recruitment has a separate notification.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Jailor: A separate prison-service post within this recruitment. The notice gives Jailor its own competitive-paper level and examination session.
  • Warder: The post identified as Veekshaka in the Kannada notice. It is listed separately from the nursing-linked Warder post, so use the precise post name when checking your application.
  • Warder cum Nursing: A distinct combined post in the prison department. Check its entry separately from ordinary Warder because the notice gives it different qualification and pay provisions.
  • Second Grade Teacher (Instructor Grade-II): The trade-based instructor post. Mechanical, electrical, carpentry, tailoring, textile or weaving, and carpet-making are the named trade areas.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Cadre rules: These appointments fall under the Kalyana Karnataka recruitment framework cited in the notice. Check the local-cadre provisions before choosing this recruitment; the separate RPC notice should not be treated as interchangeable.
  • Training: You must complete nine months of basic training at a school chosen by the department’s Director General. Passing the prescribed training examinations is part of the appointment conditions.
  • Probation: Direct recruits serve a two-year probation period. Keep this initial service condition in mind when considering an appointment in the department.
  • Pension: The notification applies the National Pension System (NPS) under the government order it cites.
  • Reservation claims: Employment-reservation categories must be entered correctly. Some communities receive a different category treatment for education, so an admission-category claim may not match a recruitment claim.
  • Final entries: The notice does not permit changes or corrections after you apply. Check your chosen post, cadre and reservation entries before final submission.
  • Recruitment communications: KEA and the prison department will publish further arrangements on their websites. Admission letters must be downloaded; they will not be posted to you.
  • Attendance costs: The notice does not provide an allowance for attending the written, endurance or medical tests. You should account for travel costs when planning attendance.
  • Centres: The authorities can change examination arrangements for administrative reasons. Check the latest official communication instead of assuming that an earlier venue remains final.
