JHDC Deoghar Home Guard Recruitment 2026: Overview

Jharkhand Home Defence Corps, Deoghar (JHDC) is enrolling Rural and Urban Home Guards for the district. The notice covers rural blocks and the urban areas of Deoghar and Madhupur. Voluntary service is the central condition: the organisation enrols volunteers for deployment when needed, so you should understand the service arrangement before applying.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Rural Home Guard: enrolment is organised by block across Deoghar Sadar, Mohanpur, Karon, Palojori, Sarath, Margomunda, Sarwan, Sonaraithari, Devipur and Madhupur Rural. Your application must relate to the block where you permanently live.
  • Urban Home Guard: the notice covers Deoghar Urban and Madhupur Urban, with technical and non-technical streams. Choose the relevant urban area and stream in your application.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Nature of service: This is voluntary Home Guard enrolment, not a salaried government appointment or an assured livelihood. The notice asks applicants to be willing to serve voluntarily when called upon.
  • Local residence: rural applicants must permanently live in the block concerned. Urban applicants must ordinarily live in the district's urban area. These are separate local enrolment pools, so your choice must match your residence.
  • One application: you may apply from only one block or urban area. Multiple applications contrary to this rule can lead to cancellation at any point in the process.
  • Women's reservation: half of the places in both rural and urban enrolment are earmarked for women. Within the women's share, 5% is reserved for qualified divorced, deserted or widowed women; unused places return to the women's pool.
  • Urban technical share: half of the urban places are earmarked for technically skilled applicants. Technical and non-technical places may be interchanged if suitable applicants are unavailable.
  • Government servants: enrolment of serving government employees is limited to 10% of the total urban places.
  • Training: successful completion of the prescribed basic training is needed before final enrolment and issue of the enrolment certificate.
  • Changes and updates: the district may revise the advertised places or application period. Test arrangements will be announced through newspapers, while enrolment information and results will be posted on the NIC Deoghar website.
  • Accuracy of details: incorrect information can cancel your application at any stage. False declarations may also lead to action under the applicable provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
