IISER TVM JRF Recruitment 2026: Overview
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM) is hiring a Junior Research Fellow for a project on metabolic dysregulation and neuroprotection in Parkinson’s disease. Funded by Cure Parkinson’s UK, the project is based at the institute in Vithura, Thiruvananthapuram. Your appointment will be tied to this externally funded research project and its funding conditions.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Initial appointment: The project tenure is three years, but your first appointment will be for six months. Continuation depends on satisfactory performance, so the longer project period does not mean an unconditional appointment for its full duration.
- Project closure: Your appointment will end automatically when the research project closes. The notice provides for this ending without further notice or compensation.
- No regular appointment claim: Working on the project does not give you a right to a regular job or absorption with IISER TVM or the funding agency, either during the project or after it ends.
- Funding conditions: The terms set by the funding agency for this project and position will govern the appointment. Read these alongside the institute’s general conditions when considering an offer.
- Joining: The institute asks selected applicants to join promptly after receiving the offer letter. Your availability to take up the appointment therefore matters.
- Travel support: The notice does not provide travel or dearness allowance for attending the interview. Keep this condition in mind if the institute sends you further attendance instructions.

Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
First-class postgraduate degree in Biological Sciences from a recognised university.
Preferred Qualification
Meeting IISER TVM PhD admission eligibility is highly desirable. Preference for applicants keen to join the laboratory for the PhD programme.
Required Skills
Desirable experience in immunohistochemistry (IHC), cell culture, mouse work and molecular biology.
