Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited is hiring a Chief General Manager or General Manager in Corporate Planning on contract or deputation. The company is jointly owned by the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat and develops and operates metro projects in the state. Its work includes Ahmedabad Metro services extending to Gandhinagar, construction in Surat and planning for further expansion. This appointment brings project monitoring and coordination across government agencies into a senior planning role.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Appointment routes: The notice allows contract and deputation appointments to the same Corporate Planning position. Your application should make clear which route and grade you are seeking.
• Contract tenure: A contract appointment runs for three years unless the competent authority extends it. Either side may end the contract by giving three months or 90 days of notice.
• Posting: You may be placed in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat or another GMRC project anywhere in Gujarat. The notice does not promise a fixed city for the entire appointment.
• Grade offered: GMRC may offer a grade below the one you apply for. Keep this possibility in mind when considering the Chief General Manager and General Manager routes.
• Offer acceptance: You normally need to accept an offer within three working days of receiving it. If you do not, GMRC may offer the appointment to the next person in merit order, although the competent authority can allow extra time on request.
• Communication: Interview calls, where needed, will go to your registered email address. GMRC will communicate the venue and schedule, and will not accept requests to change them.
• Conduct: False information, hidden facts, impersonation or fabricated records can lead to rejection. Canvassing or bringing political or outside influence into the appointment process also disqualifies an applicant.
• Management discretion: GMRC may change its staffing requirement, amend or cancel the advertisement, or decide not to select anyone. Meeting the stated minimum conditions does not guarantee that you will be called for further consideration.
• Updates: Any addendum or corrigendum will appear on the company website. You should check for these notices while your application is under consideration.

• Monitor civil, systems and operations work against project progress targets.
• Review physical and financial progress and resolve delays through coordination.
• Oversee project planning, budgets and detailed project report preparation.
• Coordinate rehabilitation, resettlement and links with other transport systems.
• Liaise with government departments, railway authorities and international funding agencies for approvals.
• Prepare responses for Parliamentary or Legislative Committees and other statutory bodies.
• Organize meetings, track decisions and prepare progress reports for the Board and senior management.
• Coordinate non-fare revenue matters with internal and external stakeholders.
