Kerala University of Digital Sciences, Innovation and Technology (Digital University Kerala, DUK) is hiring project staff for an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) study on early cerebrovascular risk assessment. The project, Innovative Fast qGRE for Sensitive Detection of Metabolic and Vascular Compliance Biomarkers in Early Cerebrovascular Risk Assessment, brings clinical support and image analysis into the same research effort. These are contract appointments, with separate work locations for the clinical and technical roles.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Technical Support II: Based in Ernakulam, this role supports the clinical side of the study and includes travel to collaborator sites. Its focus is patient-facing research support and the collection of study data.
• Project Technical Support III: Based in Thiruvananthapuram, this role supports the image computing laboratory. It combines algorithm work, quantitative analysis and coordination of project activities.

Post-wise Duties

Project Technical Support II

You will help with patient management in a clinical setting, including positioning patients, explaining procedures and keeping them safe and comfortable. You will also collect and analyse study data and take part in brain oximetry experiments involving patients and controls. Visits to collaborator sites form part of this role, so the work extends beyond a single laboratory setting.

Project Technical Support III

You will develop and implement algorithms in Python or MATLAB and help coordinate the research activities. The work also covers brain oximetry experiments and statistical interpretation of quantitative parametric maps. You will contribute to technical reports, research records and scientific publications, alongside the image computing laboratory’s professional activities.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: Each appointment initially runs for one year. An extension depends on your performance and the needs of the project.
• Work locations: The clinical-support and image-computing roles have different bases. The common interview venue does not change the role-specific posting locations.
