Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemical Sciences or Physics.
• Experience: You need a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant discipline.
• Preferred: Candidates with a good publication record will be preferred.
• Not eligible: Candidates who have already served CSIR-IICT or any other CSIR lab as Project Assistant, Project Fellow, JRF, SRF, or Research Associate for a total of 6 years or more cannot apply. If you have served less than 6 years, your tenure will run only until the total reaches 6 years.
• Result-awaited or final-semester-appearing candidates are NOT eligible — you must have at least a provisional certificate for your qualification, with your result already declared.

Age Limit

• Your age should not exceed 40 years as on the date of the walk-in interview (31 July 2026).
• Age Relaxation: Available for SC/ST/OBC, Women, and PwBD candidates as per Government of India and CSIR instructions on the subject.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a stipend of Rs. 42,000 per month plus 30% HRA as Senior Project Associate (Senior-PAT category).
• The engagement is purely temporary, initially for up to 6 months, and may be extended or curtailed depending on the sponsored project's duration and your performance.
• This position does not entitle you to any permanent status in CSIR or CSIR-IICT at any stage.

Selection Process

The selection will be done through:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held in person at CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad on 31 July 2026, based on your qualifications and experience.
2. Skill Test: Conducted if applicable for the position.

Only candidates who have already acquired the essential qualification with a declared result are eligible to appear. CSIR-IICT reserves the right to cancel or withdraw an offer at any stage if any discrepancy is found in a candidate's documents, and it may also choose not to fill a position if it does not find a suitable candidate.

The walk-in interview and registration will be held at the CSIR-IICT campus, Hyderabad – 500 007. Since seats fill up on a first-come basis for registration, it is a good idea to reach the venue well before 8:30 AM so you have enough time to complete registration formalities before the 9:30 AM cut-off.
