AIIMS Dermatology Multi Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi is hiring a project team for its Department of Dermatology & Venereology. Funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), project I-1875 aims to develop a transvaginal probe-based dermatoscope with automated artificial intelligence support to help detect cancers and infections. These contractual research roles bring together computing, clinical research, laboratory work and field coordination.

• Project Research Scientist-II, Non-Medical, AI/ML Scientist: the computing role focuses on artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) within a clinical research project.
• Project Research Scientist-II, Non-Medical: the biological sciences role connects outpatient research with sample handling and laboratory coordination.
• Project Research Scientist-I, Non-Medical: this role supports the laboratory side of the study and its research records.

Post-wise Duties

AI/ML Scientist

You will develop algorithms and computational pipelines, organise datasets, and train and assess AI/ML models. Your work also includes analysing research data and helping connect the models with clinical modules, so the software can support the project in practice.

Project Research Scientist-II

You will help screen and recruit participants through the outpatient department, collect clinical data, and coordinate the movement of samples into the laboratory. You will also process and label samples, carry out nucleic-acid extraction and molecular testing, and keep laboratory records aligned with the approved study protocol.

Project Research Scientist-I

You will support sample processing and laboratory research, including extraction and analysis work. Your tasks also cover research data collection, quality checks and clear documentation, alongside support for the project’s clinical and laboratory activities.

Project Technical Support-III

You will help collect and prepare data for research and AI implementation. Alongside laboratory support, you will help maintain research equipment and test how AI-based systems work when brought together with other project components.

Field Investigator

You will collect field data and coordinate participants across peripheral centres, outreach sites and Jhajjar. You will also follow up with participants, check records for missing information, and support data collection across centres as the study moves into practical use.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The initial appointment lasts 6 months or until the project ends, whichever comes first. Any extension depends on the project’s needs and satisfactory performance.
• Nature of appointment: The engagement is temporary and tied to this research project. You should assess it as a project assignment when planning your next role.
• Field travel: The Field Investigator’s work includes travel to peripheral AIIMS centres and outreach locations. The notice specifically includes Jhajjar in the fieldwork scope.
• Interview travel: You will need to cover your own travel and daily expenses for attending the interview, as the project does not provide these allowances.
