Doordarshan Kendra (DDK), Kolkata, under Prasar Bharati, is building a panel of casual assignees for programme production and related work. The panel covers creative, technical, archive and commercial support roles at the Kendra. This is assignment-based empanelment, and the notice expressly says it does not create employment.

Resource Person, Programme

You will assist with programme production and the related official work.

Resource Person, Lighting Assistant

You will help the cameraperson with shooting and adjust lighting arrangements during production.

Broadcast Assistant, Commercial

You will support accounts and commercial work at the Kendra.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • No guaranteed bookings: DDK calls panel members only when programmes need support and you are available. Joining the panel does not promise a fixed number of assignments.
  • Booking limits: The ceiling is seven assignments in a month and eighty-four in a year. An assignment can take two to three days, depending on the work.
  • Other work: You may continue or take up employment elsewhere, or remain self-employed. The Kendra does not restrict this.
  • Accepting an assignment: You may decline an invitation. Once you agree to an assignment, you must complete the accepted work; advance consent is needed.
  • One category only: Choose your category carefully. Multiple applications will lead to rejection under the notice.
  • No regular-job entitlement: Empanelment gives no right to regular bookings and no advantage or claim to a regular appointment.
  • Panel decisions: The selection committee’s decision is final. DDK may reject an application without giving a reason, and canvassing leads to disqualification.

Payment is Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 5,000 per assignment, depending on the category. You are not promised a monthly salary or a fixed number of bookings.

Applications are screened, followed by a category-dependent skill test, written test or personality test as decided by the committee.
