DHFWS Purba Bardhaman Staff Nurse and Pharmacist Recruitment 2026: Overview

The District Health and Family Welfare Samity (DHFWS), Purba Bardhaman, with the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, is hiring Staff Nurses and a Pharmacist for the Urban Primary Health Centres (U-PHCs) run under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM). The posts are in the municipal areas of Kalna, Katwa and Burdwan. This is a fresh drive: the district cancelled its earlier NUHM Staff Nurse recruitment on orders of the Mission Director, NHM, and has re-advertised the posts. Both posts are contractual engagements, not regular government jobs.

Posts and Disciplines

• Staff Nurse-NUHM: for nurses with GNM or B.Sc Nursing, posted to U-PHCs in Kalna, Katwa and Burdwan municipalities. Seats are spread across UR, OBC, SC and ST groups, including EC sub-quotas. Your merit is based on marks in your qualifying examination.
• Pharmacist-NUHM: a single unreserved seat at the U-PHC of Kalna Municipality, for holders of an allopathic Diploma in Pharmacy. A B.Pharm or M.Pharm raises your score, and there is a computer test you must pass.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Residence: You must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
• Language: You must be able to read, write and speak Bengali.
• Registration: Staff Nurses must be registered with the West Bengal Nursing Council. The Pharmacist must be registered as an "A" category pharmacist with the West Bengal Pharmacy Council.
• Computer skills: The Pharmacist post needs working knowledge of MS Office and the internet, checked through the computer test.
• Contract length: The first engagement lasts up to March 2027 and can be renewed only on satisfactory performance and approval.
• Form accuracy: An application can be cancelled if its details differ from your original certificates, or if the photograph and signature are missing.

You apply only through the online recruitment section of the West Bengal Health portal. If you applied for the same post before and see "Duplicate Registration !", type your first name twice in the first-name field; it is corrected at verification.

Print your form from the portal's Application Print option and keep it with your NEFT deposit copy (with UTR number) or online-payment receipt. No postal copy is needed. The provisional list and verification notice will appear on purbabardhaman.nic.in and wbhealth.gov.in.
