Visva-Bharati ICSSR Minor Research Project Recruitment 2026 - 5 Posts

Sangit Bhavana, Visva-Bharati, has advertised 5 temporary project positions under the ICSSR Minor Research Project "Santiniketan–Sriniketan as a Living Heritage Model of Holistic Education: A Critical Study of Tagore's Educational Experiment in the Light of Ancient Indian Education Systems and its Relevance to NEP 2020." These are purely temporary and contractual roles, co-terminus with the project, ranging from 1 month to 7 months in duration. Candidates familiar with Rabindranath Tagore's educational philosophy, Santiniketan-Sriniketan heritage, or the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 have an advantage. There is no claim to a regular appointment at Visva-Bharati or ICSSR once the project ends.

Vacancy Breakdown by Post

• Field Investigator: 3 posts (1 post for 7 months, 1 post for 6 months, 1 post for 3 months)
• Research Assistant: 1 post (2 months)
• Research Associate: 1 post (1 month)

Who Can Apply?

For Research Associate (1 Post):

• You need a Ph.D., or NET/M.Phil./Postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks in Social Sciences, Humanities, Performing Arts, Cultural Studies, Education, History, Sociology, Anthropology, Music or allied disciplines.
• You must have at least 2 years of research experience as a research assistant in a project, with evidence of publications and academic writing.

For Research Assistant (1 Post):

• You need a Postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks in the subjects above, along with NET/M.Phil./Ph.D.
• You should know research methodology, field survey techniques, documentation and report writing.

For Field Investigator (3 Posts):

• You need a Postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks in Social Sciences, Humanities, Performing Arts, Music, Cultural Studies, History, Sociology, Anthropology, Education, Folklore, Heritage Studies or allied disciplines.
• You should be able to carry out field surveys, interviews and documentation.

Desirable for All Posts:

• Academic or research background related to Rabindranath Tagore, Santiniketan-Sriniketan, or Visva-Bharati
• Knowledge of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) and NEP 2020
• Experience documenting festivals, cultural performances and heritage practices
• Good command of Bengali and English
• Computer proficiency, including MS Office

Salary

• Pay will be given as per ICSSR norms and the approved project budget — exact figures are not mentioned in the advertisement.
• No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)
