The District Urban Development Cell (DUDC), under the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Tumakuru District has issued notification No. DUDC/Staff/CR/242/2025-26 dated 23 March 2026 for filling up 238 Pourakarmika vacancies. These posts will be filled across Tumakuru City Corporation, Tipatur City Municipal Council, and Sira City Municipal Council. There is no written exam — selection will be based on merit as per the Poura Seva Vrunda and Recruitment Rules 2010. This recruitment is open to existing outsourced, daily wage, and contract sanitation workers currently serving in these ULBs.

Who Can Apply?

• Citizenship: You must be an Indian citizen.
• Experience: You need at least 1 year of service as an outsourced, daily wage, or contract Pourakarmika, Loader, UGD Helper, Cleaner, Helper, or sanitation worker in the concerned Urban Local Body. Your service must include ESI and PF benefits.
• Language: You must have knowledge of Kannada language. A Kannada knowledge certificate is required.
• Criminal Record: You must not be involved in any criminal case.
• Current Service: You must be currently working in the concerned ULB office at the time of application.

Also eligible:

• Family members of Pourakarmikas who passed away during COVID-19 or due to other work-related causes, and are currently serving as daily wage or contract workers in the same ULB.
• Persons recognized under the Manual Scavengers Act, or their dependents.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 50 years old as on the date of public notification (23 March 2026).
• Age Relaxation: Applicable for SC/ST, backward classes, and other reserved categories as per Karnataka government rules.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 17,000 to Rs. 28,950 per month as per Karnataka Government Group D pay scale.
• You will also get DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Karnataka State Government rules.
• ESI and PF benefits will be provided from the date of joining.

Selection Process

1. Merit-Based Selection: There is no written exam for this recruitment. Candidates will be selected purely based on merit, considering your length of service, ESI/PF records, and eligibility as per the Poura Seva Vrunda and Recruitment Rules 2010 and City Corporation Cadre and Recruitment Rules 2011.
2. Document Verification: You will need to produce all original documents and certificates for verification before final selection.
3. Medical Examination: Selected candidates must be physically and mentally fit for sanitation duties. A medical fitness certificate from a government medical officer will be required.

How to Apply

1. Visit your ULB office: Go to the office of Tumakuru City Corporation, Tipatur City Municipal Council, or Sira City Municipal Council (whichever ULB you are currently serving in) between 25 March 2026 and 08 April 2026.
2. Collect the application form: Obtain the prescribed Pourakarmika application form from the respective ULB office during working hours (10:00 AM to 5:30 PM on working days).
3. Fill the application form: Fill in all required details carefully as per the instructions given in the notification.
4. Attach required documents: Attach self-attested copies of all required documents along with your application form.
5. Submit in person: Submit the completed application form along with documents at the concerned ULB office by 08 April 2026, 5:00 PM. Applications sent by post or any other mode will not be accepted.

• Carry out street sweeping and cleaning of roads, lanes, and public areas within the assigned ward of the Urban Local Body.
• Collect and transport solid waste from households, commercial establishments, and public bins to designated collection points.
• Keep drains, gutters, and underground drainage (UGD) systems clean and free-flowing to prevent waterlogging and health hazards.
• Assist in door-to-door waste collection drives and help maintain proper waste segregation at source.
• Handle and dispose of waste as per the Solid Waste Management rules and guidelines issued by the Municipal Corporation.
• Participate in special sanitation drives during festivals, public events, and disease outbreak prevention campaigns.
• Report any public health hazards, broken drainage, or waste dumping violations to the Sanitary Supervisor.
• Follow all safety protocols and use provided protective equipment while performing sanitation duties.
