Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) is looking for one Project Associate-I to join its Feed and Fodder Technology unit at the Veterinary College and Research Institute in Namakkal. This is a walk-in opportunity under a self-financing scheme, and if you hold a postgraduate degree in veterinary or animal sciences, this could be your entry into meaningful research work with a reputed state university.

Key Highlights

  • 1 vacancy for Project Associate-I on a temporary/contract basis
  • Salary up to Rs. 31,000 + HRA per month if you have cleared NET, GATE, or equivalent national-level tests (Rs. 25,000 + HRA otherwise)
  • Initial engagement for 3 years, extendable based on your performance and project requirements
  • Walk-in interview on 17 March 2026 at 9:30 AM at VCRI Namakkal
  • No application fee for any category
  • Candidates must hold a valid two-wheeler driving licence at the time of joining

Selection Process

The selection has two stages. First, you will sit for a written test covering topics like feed and fodder technology, procurement methods, feed mill operations, quality control, and inventory management. The test consists of MCQs worth 30 marks with a 45-minute duration, and you need at least 50% marks to qualify for the interview round. Candidates who clear the written test will then face a personal interview where your educational qualifications, research experience, and publications will also be evaluated.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Project Associate-I, your day-to-day work will revolve around the Feed and Fodder Technology unit. You will supervise and coordinate operations of the feed technology unit, handle procurement and quality control of feed materials, manage stock and maintain accounts, and contribute to teaching, research, extension, and product development activities in the feed and fodder technology domain.

Preparation Tips

  1. Focus on feed technology fundamentals including feed formulation, manufacturing processes, and quality parameters since the written test is entirely based on this domain
  2. Revise procurement and inventory management concepts, as these are specifically mentioned in the exam syllabus
  3. Brush up on feed evaluation methods and quality control standards used in the Indian feed industry
  4. Carry all your publications and research experience proof as these will carry weight during the interview evaluation

Documents You Will Need

  • Filled-in application form with a passport-size photograph affixed (download the form from the official notification)
  • All educational certificates in original along with one set of self-attested photocopies
  • NET/GATE/ICAR NET scorecard if applicable (required for the higher pay slab of Rs. 31,000)
  • Experience certificates from previous employers, if any
  • Community/caste certificate if claiming age relaxation
  • Photo ID proof such as Aadhaar card or voter ID
  • No Objection Certificate from current employer (mandatory if you are currently employed)
  • Published research papers with journal details and NAAS ratings
  • Valid two-wheeler driving licence (required at the time of joining)
  • Medical fitness certificate (to be produced at the time of joining)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, monitor and coordinate the operation and maintenance of the Feed and Fodder Technology unit
