TANUVAS Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Veterinary College and Research Institute (VCRI), Tirunelveli, under Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS), has invited applications for 1 Project Assistant position. The role is under the project "Controlled field trial of Oral vaccination kit against Newcastle disease to augment productivity in native poultry of Tamil Nadu". The position runs for 2.5 years, valid up to 31 August 2028 or completion of the project, whichever is earlier. Freshers and experienced candidates with a biotechnology background can apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification (any one):
  • M.Sc. in Microbiology or Biotechnology
  • B.Tech or M.Tech in Biotechnology
• You should not receive any other fellowship or assistantship from another funding agency during the project period.
• If you are currently employed, you must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer.

Age Limit

• Age range: 21 to 45 years.
• Age is counted as on the date of advertisement.
• Age relaxation will be given as per rule.

Salary

• Consolidated pay: Rs. 25,000 per month.
• No other allowances are payable.
• Income tax or any other tax will be deducted at source from the monthly pay as per rules.

Engagement Duration

• Initial engagement: 1 year.
• Extendable up to 2.5 years (one year at a time), based on satisfactory performance and project need.
• Project end date: 31 August 2028 or project completion, whichever is earlier.
• This is a purely temporary position with no claim for regular appointment in TANUVAS or CMRG.

Job Description

The selected Project Assistant will work on:

• Isolation and characterisation of poultry gut bacteria
• Virus cultivation and confirmation by PCR
• Preparation of oral pellet vaccine
• Experimental bird trials
• Serology and gut microbiome analysis
• Data collection, statistical analysis, and report preparation
• Assistance in manuscript preparation and project documentation

Selection Process

1. Application Screening based on academic qualifications, experience, and research credentials.
2. Written Test (if needed): In case a large number of applications are received, a written test may be held to shortlist candidates.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email or phone and called for the interview.
4. Final Selection based on interview performance and relevant experience.

Note: No TA/DA is payable for attending the interview. Selection will follow the norms of ASRR, TANUVAS.
