TANUVAS is hiring 1 Project Assistant for a Chief Minister's Research Grant (CMRG) funded project at the Veterinary College and Research Institute, Salem. If you are a graduate in Veterinary Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Applied Microbiology, Molecular Biology or related field, you can apply. TANUVAS Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS), through its Veterinary College and Research Institute at Salem, has invited applications for 1 Project Assistant post under the Chief Minister's Research Grant (CMRG) funded project titled "Empowering Farmers: A mobile App for Conjunctival and dung based self-assessment for early detection of Ruminant health issues". This is a walk-in interview based recruitment with no online application. Selection happens through a written exam followed by an interview on a single day.
Who Can Apply?
- Essential Qualification: You must hold a graduate degree in Veterinary Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Applied Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or related disciplines from a recognised university or equivalent.
- Desirable: Basic knowledge of computer applications, software design, and web app development is preferred.
- Working professionals: If you are currently employed, you must produce a No Objection Certificate from your present employer at the interview.
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 40 years
- Age relaxation as per ASRR, TANUVAS Chennai norms
Salary
- Monthly remuneration: Rs. 25,000 per month (consolidated)
- No House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be paid
- The position is purely temporary and is co-terminus with the project
Selection Process
Selection happens in 2 stages on the same day:
- Written Examination: Only shortlisted candidates will be called.
- Interview: Held immediately after the written test on 11 June 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Salem.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written exam or interview. Mere attendance does not guarantee selection — final selection is based purely on merit as per ASRR, TANUVAS Chennai norms.

Responsibilities
- Assist in research on conjunctival and dung-based self-assessment methods for ruminant health
- Contribute to the design and development of a mobile app for farmers
- Collect and process field samples from dairy and ruminant livestock
- Carry out laboratory analysis using microbiology and molecular biology techniques
- Maintain accurate records of experiments, sample data, and observations
- Support the Principal Investigator in preparing technical reports and publications
- Coordinate with farmers and field staff during data collection visits
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Graduate in Veterinary Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Applied Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or related disciplines from a recognised university
Preferred Qualification
Basic knowledge of computer applications, software design, and web app development
Required Skills
Microbiology techniques, molecular biology, data analysis, computer applications, web/app development knowledge
Age Limit
18 - 40 years
Salary & Compensation
Pay Scale
Rs. 25,000/- per month (consolidated). No HRA.
