TANUVAS Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post (Namakkal)
Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) has issued a notification for 1 Project Assistant post at the Department of Livestock Products Technology (Meat Science), Veterinary College and Research Institute, Mohanur Road, Namakkal - 637 002. The position is under the CMRG project titled Development of ready-to-eat shelf-stable functional meat products for boosting entrepreneurship. The role is for a duration of 3 years (up to 31 January 2029 or till project completion, whichever is earlier).
Who Can Apply?
Essential Qualification (any one):
- Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Sciences, OR
- Master's degree in Livestock Products Technology, OR
- M.Sc in Food Processing / Food Technology, OR
- M.Tech in Poultry Technology
- First Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying degree is preferable
Desirable Qualification / Experience:
- Experience in meat products development
- Experience in meat processing equipment handling
- Experience in meat products quality assessment
- Research publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Proficiency in research data analysis and computer operations
Age Limit
- You should be between 21 and 45 years old
- Age relaxation as per Government/TANUVAS norms
Salary
- Consolidated salary of Rs. 25,000 per month
- No other allowances
- Position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project
- Initial appointment for one year, extended annually based on satisfactory performance
Selection Process
- Application Screening: Applications will be screened based on academic qualifications, experience, and research credentials
- Written Test (if needed): If many applications are received, a written test may be conducted to shortlist candidates
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email or phone and called for interview
Final selection is based on written test performance, interview, and relevant experience. No TA/DA will be paid.

Responsibilities
- Collect research articles relevant to the meat products project
- Develop and standardise shelf-stable functional meat products
- Conduct shelf life studies of developed meat products
- Handle meat processing equipment and follow quality assessment protocols
- Maintain stocks of equipment, meat and non-meat ingredients, chemicals and laboratory inventory
- Prepare reports, research papers and presentations of project findings
- Disseminate research outcomes to entrepreneurs and stakeholders
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor in Veterinary Sciences OR Master's degree in Livestock Products Technology OR M.Sc in Food Processing/Food Technology OR M.Tech in Poultry Technology (First Class preferred)
Preferred Qualification
Experience in meat products development, meat processing equipment handling, meat quality assessment, research publications
