Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) has notified 2 temporary Field Assistant posts for an externally aided Government of Tamil Nadu project under the Directorate of Tribal Welfare Department. The project is linked to goat farming and livelihood support for tribal farmers in Bargur and Kadambur hills of Erode district. The post is temporary for about 2 years from recruitment or until the project ends, whichever happens earlier.

The work is based at Bargur Cattle Research Station, Bargur. This is a field-focused role, so candidates who can travel frequently, collect data, handle goats, and work with tribal farmer households will fit the job better. Nativity from Anthiyur, Bargur hills, Kadambur hills, and Erode district is preferred, and experience in animal handling is also preferred.

Work area and project duties: The Field Assistant has to support data collection for goat farming work in tribal farmer households. This means the job is not only office work. You may have to visit villages, meet farmers, note field details, and record goat body measurements correctly for the project team.
