SWSE Tripura State Commissioner Recruitment 2026: Overview
The Social Welfare and Social Education Department, Government of Tripura, is seeking a State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities. This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act and the state rules, including their latest amendment. Service Conditions and Caveats
- Term of office: Your appointment runs for three years from the day you take charge, subject to the retirement ceiling set out in the notice. The state rules govern the appointment throughout this period.
- Repeat appointment: A person can hold the office for a maximum of two terms. A further term remains subject to the conditions in the rules.
- Consideration beyond applications: The committee may also consider willing people in Central or State Government employment who did not respond to this advertisement.

Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Graduate from a recognized university.
Preferred Qualification
Recognized degree or diploma in Social Work, Law, Management, Human Rights, Rehabilitation or Education of Persons with Disabilities.
Required Skills
Special knowledge or practical experience in rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.
Age Limit
Up to 56 years (as on 01 Jan 2026)
Experience
20 - No limit years
At least 20 years at Group A level or equivalent in Central or State Government; in PSUs, semi-government or autonomous bodies dealing with disability matters or the social sector; or as a senior functionary of a registered state, national or international voluntary organization working in disability or social development.
