Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

Your eligibility depends on which category of post you want to apply for. You need to hold the required qualification as on the crucial date mentioned in the notification.

• Matriculation Level — You must have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) from a recognized board
• Higher Secondary Level — You must have passed Class 12th (10+2 or equivalent) from a recognized board
• Graduate Level — You must hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Some posts may require a degree in a specific subject or discipline

Nationality

• Pay Level 1: Rs. 18,000 - Rs. 56,900 per month (basic pay for entry-level Group C posts)

• Pay Level 4: Rs. 25,500 - Rs. 81,100 per month
• Pay Level 5: Rs. 29,200 - Rs. 92,300 per month
• Pay Level 6: Rs. 35,400 - Rs. 1,12,400 per month
• Pay Level 7: Rs. 44,900 - Rs. 1,42,400 per month (for Group B Non-Gazetted posts)
• In addition to basic pay, you will receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, and other benefits as per Central Government norms
• Your in-hand salary depends on the post, pay level, and city of posting

Application Fee

• General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 100 (payable online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Credit/Debit Card)
• Women (all categories): Exempted (no fee)
• SC / ST: Exempted
• PwBD: Exempted
• Ex-Servicemen: Exempted
• Fee must be paid separately for each category of post you apply to. The fee is non-refundable.

Selection Process

1. Computer Based Examination (CBE) — Three separate CBE exams are conducted for Matriculation, Higher Secondary, and Graduation levels. The exam is objective type with multiple choice questions. You get 60 minutes (80 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates). There is negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer. The exam is in Hindi and English.
2. Document Scrutiny — After the CBE results, shortlisted candidates must upload self-attested copies of all supporting documents on the SSC portal
3. Skill Test (if applicable) — Posts requiring Typing/Data Entry/Computer Proficiency will have a qualifying skill test. This is mentioned in the individual post details
4. Document Verification (DV) — Conducted by the User Department to which the post belongs. You must produce original documents including educational certificates, category certificates, experience certificates, and photo ID proof

Minimum cut-off marks for CBE: Unreserved (UR) — 30%, OBC/EWS — 25%, Other categories — 20%.

How to Apply

1. Register on ssc.gov.in — If you have not done so already, complete your One Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website. Earlier OTR from the old website (ssc.nic.in) will not work
2. Log in and find the exam — After OTR, log in to your account and look for "Selection Posts Phase XIV, 2026" under available examinations
3. Fill the application form — Enter your personal details, educational qualification, post preference, and examination centre preference. You can choose up to 3 exam centres anywhere in India
4. Upload your photograph — The application module will capture a live photograph. Do not upload a pre-existing photo. Remove cap, glasses, and spectacles. Ensure good lighting and a plain background
5. Upload your signature — Scan your signature in JPEG/JPG format (10-20 KB). Image dimensions should be about 6.0 cm width x 2.0 cm height
6. Pay the application fee — Rs. 100 for General/OBC/EWS candidates through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit/Credit Card. Exempted categories do not need to pay
7. Submit and take a printout — Review all details using the Preview option before final submission. Keep a hard copy of the submitted application for your records
