Selection Process

Your journey to becoming a GD Constable involves four key stages. It all starts with a Computer-Based Test (CBT) covering General Intelligence, General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi. Candidates who clear the written exam move on to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST), where your fitness and measurements are evaluated. The final hurdle is a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) to ensure you are fit for armed duties.

Preparation Tips

  1. Focus on General Intelligence and Reasoning as it carries 20 questions and tests logical thinking, patterns, and analogies that can be mastered with regular practice
  2. Build your General Knowledge by following current affairs daily and revising static GK topics like history, geography, polity, and science
  3. Practice Elementary Mathematics by solving problems on number systems, percentages, ratio, time and distance, and profit-loss from previous year papers
  4. Do not neglect English or Hindi since this section tests basic comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary that can fetch easy marks
  5. Start physical training early since the PET requires males to run 5 km in 24 minutes and females to run 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes
