Selection Process
Your journey to becoming a GD Constable involves four key stages. It all starts with a Computer-Based Test (CBT) covering General Intelligence, General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi. Candidates who clear the written exam move on to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST), where your fitness and measurements are evaluated. The final hurdle is a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) to ensure you are fit for armed duties.
Preparation Tips
- Focus on General Intelligence and Reasoning as it carries 20 questions and tests logical thinking, patterns, and analogies that can be mastered with regular practice
- Build your General Knowledge by following current affairs daily and revising static GK topics like history, geography, polity, and science
- Practice Elementary Mathematics by solving problems on number systems, percentages, ratio, time and distance, and profit-loss from previous year papers
- Do not neglect English or Hindi since this section tests basic comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary that can fetch easy marks
