Spices Board Executive & Assistant Engineer Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

The Spices Board, functioning under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Government of India), has invited applications through two separate notifications — No. 42/2025 for Executive (Marketing) and No. 58/2025 for Assistant Engineer. Both positions are on a contract basis for one year, with the possibility of a one-year extension based on performance. The Spices Board is headquartered at Sugandha Bhavan in Kochi and is responsible for the development and worldwide promotion of Indian spices.

Who Can Apply?

For Executive (Marketing):

• Qualification: You need an MBA (Marketing) or an equivalent PGDM degree from a recognized institution. It must be a regular (full-time) course.
• Experience: At least 2 years of post-qualification work experience in marketing of agricultural commodities, trade or exports, or implementation of infrastructure schemes.

For Assistant Engineer:

• Qualification: You need a Diploma or higher qualification in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university or institution.
• Experience: At least 10 years of experience in construction, repair, or maintenance works.
• Skills: You should have effective communication and interpersonal skills, along with working knowledge of computers (MS Office, AutoCAD, Email, and Internet).

Age Limit

• Executive (Marketing): Maximum 40 years as on 11 March 2026 (date of notification)
• Assistant Engineer: Maximum 50 years
• Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates is applicable as per government rules.

Salary

• Executive (Marketing): Rs. 30,000 per month during the first year. If the contract is extended, the remuneration increases to Rs. 35,000 per month.
• Assistant Engineer: Rs. 53,100 per month (fixed).
• Important: These are contractual positions. There is no Dearness Allowance, HRA, transport facility, residential accommodation, CGHS, or medical reimbursement.
• TA/DA will be paid for official travel within the country at par with regular employees of the same grade.
• You will get 12 days of leave per year on a pro-rata basis. Unused leave cannot be carried forward or encashed.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting: Applications will be screened for eligibility. Only shortlisted candidates will be called further.
2. Written Test and/or Interview: The Spices Board will conduct a written test and/or interview at the Head Office in Kochi, Kerala. The exact date and venue will be communicated later.
3. Panel Formation: A rank list or panel of qualified candidates will be prepared. This panel will remain valid for 2 years from the date of publishing.

Note: No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the test or interview.

• Handle marketing activities related to Indian spices, including coordination with exporters, traders, and stakeholders in the spice industry.
• Assist in the planning and execution of trade promotion events, exhibitions, and buyer-seller meets both in India and abroad.
• Prepare marketing reports, market research analysis, and documentation related to spice trade and export data.
• Work on implementation and monitoring of infrastructure development schemes sanctioned by the Board.
• Manage maintenance, repair, and construction activities at Spices Board premises and related facilities (Assistant Engineer).
• Assist senior officials in preparing estimates, drawings, and specifications for civil, electrical, and mechanical works.
• Follow up on day-to-day administrative and correspondence tasks assigned by the Board from time to time.
