SGMH Dental Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital (SGMH), Delhi is recruiting Dental Senior Residents in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for its Trauma Centre in Mangolpuri. This is an ad-hoc hospital engagement intended to keep specialist dental and facial-trauma services staffed while regular appointments are pending. The role combines supervised senior-residency training with active clinical service, so you should expect emergency referrals, inpatient coordination and procedure-focused work rather than a desk-based assignment. The hospital is part of the Government of NCT of Delhi health system, and the appointment remains tied to SGMH.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Ad-hoc tenure: The first appointment is for 89 days. It may continue in further terms, subject to satisfactory work and conduct, for up to three years or until a regular appointee joins, whichever is earlier.
• Break between terms: Any extension includes a mandatory one-day break after each 89-day tenure. The temporary engagement does not give you a right to regular appointment.
• Residency history: You must not already have completed three years of Senior Residency in a recognized institution, whether on a regular or ad-hoc basis. An attempt or residency certificate may be used to check this condition.
• Professional registration: You need valid registration with the Dental Council of India or Delhi Dental Council. If selected, you must produce a valid Delhi Dental Council registration certificate when joining.
• Category certificates: Delhi Government OBC certificates are accepted for OBC claims, and the Non-Creamy Layer certificate must cover the current financial year. EWS applicants also need a current financial-year certificate.
• Medical and certificate checks: Appointment depends on medical fitness and verification of educational and professional records. A false category claim can lead to immediate termination and further action under the applicable law.
• Hospital facilities: Hostel accommodation is available only if space permits. The hospital does not promise accommodation as part of the appointment.
• Interview costs: No TA or DA is paid for attending a screening test or interview. You must cover your own travel and stay costs for the selection process.
• Recruitment changes: The hospital may adjust or cancel positions, revise the selection schedule, amend conditions or stop the process. The competent authority's decision is final on questions of eligibility, selection and appointment.
