    Railway Recruitment Boards revised the tentative CBT schedule for CEN 09/2025 (Level-1) on 30 July 2026. Exams run on 16 days: August 3-6, 9-14, 17-21 and 25, 2026. The CBT has 100 questions in 90 minutes with 1/3 negative marking, generally in 3 shifts per day (9:00 AM, 12:45 PM, 4:30 PM) with Aadhaar-enabled biometric verification at centres.

Selection Process

Selection starts with a Computer Based Test (CBT) — 100 MCQs in 90 minutes with 1/3 negative marking for each wrong answer. Candidates shortlisted at 3 times the number of vacancies move to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). After PET, you go through Document Verification (1:1 ratio) and finally a Medical Examination based on the medical standard for your chosen post. The exam is available in 15 languages, so you can write in your preferred language.

Preparation Tips for RRB Group D CBT Exam

  • Focus on General Intelligence and Reasoning — it carries 30 marks, the highest weightage among all subjects
  • You get 90 minutes for 100 questions — that is about 54 seconds per question, so practice speed and accuracy
  • Negative marking is 1/3 mark per wrong answer — avoid random guessing, attempt only if you can eliminate 2 options
  • For General Awareness, cover current affairs from the last 6-8 months and basic static GK
  • Mathematics section has 25 questions — practice NCERT Class 9-10 level problems for quick calculation
  • Take at least 10-15 mock tests in CBT format to get used to the computer-based exam environment

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Requirements
