Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram (RCC) is recruiting Resident Staff Nurses for its nursing services in Kerala. This is a contract engagement under the centre's Resident Staff Nurse Programme. The key point for your decision is that completing the programme does not give you a right to a regular Staff Nurse appointment at RCC.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial engagement: You join for one year. Any continuation depends on the institution's needs and your performance, so you should not treat an extension as automatic.
• Extension arrangement: The programme can continue up to a maximum of three years through 179-day cycles. The Nursing Superintendent's performance appraisals guide these extensions.
• Contract agreement: You must sign a contract when you join. The engagement remains subject to the rules and regulations set by the Director from time to time.
• Leave: The programme provides a weekly off, 20 days of Casual Leave and 8 closed holidays per year. These are the leave provisions stated for the engagement.
• Resignation notice: Give the institution one month's written notice if you wish to leave. Leaving without this notice means forfeiting one month's pay or its equivalent.
• Discipline: RCC can end the engagement if you do not follow institutional discipline, rules or regulations. Following these requirements is a continuing condition of your contract.
• Experience certificate: The Director issues a certificate with the designation Resident Staff Nurse only after you complete at least six months and properly finish the resignation formalities. Service shorter than six months does not qualify for this certificate.
• Returning to the programme: Completing the full three-year term does not give you automatic re-entry. If you want to join a later cycle, you must go through the full recruitment process alongside new applicants.
• No regular appointment claim: Completing the programme does not create a claim to a regular Staff Nurse position at RCC. Your engagement is governed by the programme's contract conditions.
• Changes to conditions: The Director may revise any clause in the terms and conditions. Keep this provision in mind when reading the prospectus and joining agreement.
• Legal jurisdiction: Any dispute or court case falls under the competent courts in Kerala.

• Work shifts according to RCC nursing-service requirements.
• Carry out nursing service in the area assigned by the Nursing Superintendent.
