Who Can Apply?

Civil Assistant Surgeon Specialist

• Qualification: You must have passed PG Degree, DNB, Diploma in the concerned specialty or an equivalent qualification included in Schedule I and II of the MCI Act, 1956.
• Registration: You must be registered with the A.P. Medical Council.

Civil Assistant Surgeon General

• Qualification: You must have passed MBBS.
• Registration: You must be registered with the A.P. Medical Council.

Local Status

• Local candidates: Candidates who studied from Class 4 to Class 10 in Multi Zone-II districts are treated as local.
• Local reservation: The notice mentions 95% local and 5% non-local distribution.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit is 42 years as on 01 July 2026.
• SC / ST / BC / EWS: 5 years relaxation.
• Persons with Benchmark Disability: 10 years relaxation.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection process uses a 100-mark merit system. There is no written exam in the notification.

1. Qualification Marks: 75% of PG Degree/DNB marks, 65% of PG Diploma marks, and 75% of MBBS marks for CAS General are considered as per the notice.
2. Years After Qualification: Up to 10 marks are given at 1 mark per year after completing the qualifying exam up to the notification date.
3. Government Contract Service: Up to 15 marks may be given for contract service in government institutions in the relevant post.
4. COVID-19 Service Weightage: COVID-19 duty weightage can be considered if the required appointment orders, attendance, bank statement and service certificate are submitted.
5. Document Verification: Original and self-attested documents will be checked during the walk-in process.

4. Report at the Office of the District Coordinator of Hospital Services, DSH, 1st floor of old RIMS Hospital Building, Opposite Collector Office, Ongole, Prakasam District.

Posting note: Selected doctors can be posted to any medical institution as per department need, and they must stay at the bonafide headquarters. The notice also says doctors undergoing PG or Super Specialty courses should not apply because permission will not be given to continue that course after selection.
