Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) Consultant and GIS Recruitment 2026 - 12 Posts

Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has released a notice for 12 contract posts in transportation planning, environment planning and GIS support. These roles will support the PMRDA Structure Plan, including transport networks, environmental planning, spatial data, mapping and planning support. Selection is through shortlisting and personal interview, so your qualification, project experience and supporting documents matter more than a written exam.

Total vacancies: 12 posts. All posts are for a fixed 6-month consultant engagement.

Who Can Apply?

Senior Consultant in Transportation Planning

• Qualification: You need a full-time degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or Planning, or a post-graduate degree in Transportation Planning, Infrastructure Planning or an equivalent AICTE/UGC-recognised qualification.
• Experience: You need at least 10 years of post-qualification experience focused on urban, regional or transportation planning consultancy assignments.
• Preferred profile: Experience in government, public sector or infrastructure companies is preferred. Knowledge of National Urban Transport Policy and public transport/NMT/IPT projects is also preferred.

Senior Consultant/Consultant in Environment Planning

• Qualification: You need a full-time degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or Planning and a post-graduate degree in Environment Planning or an equivalent AICTE/UGC-recognised qualification.
• Experience: You need at least 7 years of post-qualification experience in environmental planning, ecological planning, sustainable urban development or GIS analysis for slope, hydrology and waterbody buffers.
• Preferred profile: Knowledge of Indian environmental laws and regulations and experience with government, public sector or infrastructure organisations will help.

GIS Expert

• Qualification: You need an M.Sc. or M.Tech in Geoinformatics, GIS or Remote Sensing.
• Experience: You need at least 6 years of post-qualification experience in GIS master planning, Smart Cities/AMRUT projects, web GIS or dashboard development.
• Skills: PMRDA prefers skills in PostgreSQL, SQL Server, ArcSDE, UML modelling, API integration, ArcGIS Pro, PostGIS, Python ArcPy, Spatial Analyst and Network Analyst.

GIS Analyst

• Qualification: You need a bachelor's degree in Geoinformatics/GIS, or a bachelor's degree in Geography, Civil Engineering or Planning with a diploma or certification in GIS/Remote Sensing.
• Experience: You need at least 2 years of post-qualification experience in core GIS digitisation, database management, AutoCAD integration and basic remote sensing work.
• Skills: PMRDA prefers hands-on skills in ArcGIS Pro, PostGIS or equivalent GIS software, Python ArcPy, Spatial Analyst and Network Analyst.

Age Limit

• Senior Consultant in Transportation Planning: Maximum age is 50 years.
• Senior Consultant/Consultant in Environment Planning: Maximum age is 50 years.
• GIS Expert: Maximum age is 45 years.
• GIS Analyst: Maximum age is 40 years.
• Reference date: Age, qualification and experience are counted as on 1 April 2026.

Salary

• Senior Consultant in Transportation Planning: Rs. 11,087 per day.
• Senior Consultant/Consultant in Environment Planning: Pay will be decided as per experience.
• GIS Expert: Rs. 70,000 per month.
• GIS Analyst: Rs. 45,000 per month.
• Tenure: The engagement is for 6 months. PMRDA may extend it as per requirement, but the notice does not promise permanent employment.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

PMRDA will shortlist applications after checking eligibility, experience and documents. The notice does not mention a written exam.

1. Application Scrutiny: PMRDA will check whether you meet the required age, qualification and experience as on 1 April 2026.
2. Shortlisting: Candidates who pass scrutiny may be shortlisted for interview based on relevant experience and supporting documents.
3. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview.
4. Document Verification: You must produce original certificates at the time of interview/document verification.

• Maintain GIS databases, metadata, quality checks and version control for project layers.
