Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) has opened applications for 124 Specialist Posts through its Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Recruitment Examination 2025. This is a solid opportunity for candidates in Odisha who hold a 10+2 qualification and are looking to start a career in government service across three distinct departments — Water Resources, Fisheries, and Forensic Science.
| Post Name | Department | Vacancies | Women Reserved |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amin | EIC (Water Resources) | 15 | 6 |
| Junior Fisheries Technical Assistant | Fisheries & ARD Department | 15 | 5 |

- 94 out of 124 vacancies are for Junior Forensic Attendant alone — making it the post with the highest intake this cycle
- 41 posts are reserved for women candidates, which is roughly one-third of all vacancies
- All three posts are State Cadre positions, meaning you will be posted within Odisha
- The monthly pay starts at Rs. 18,000 under Level-3 of the Odisha Revised Scale of Pay (ORSP) 2017, going up to Rs. 56,500 with increments

Selection happens in two written stages — a Preliminary Examination followed by a Main Examination. Candidates who clear both stages will then go through Document Verification. There is no interview round, so your written exam performance is what matters most.
- Start with the syllabus — the Prelims will likely cover General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English, and Computer Knowledge. Focus on Odisha GK as OSSC exams give significant weight to state-specific questions
- Practice previous OSSC CHSL papers — the exam pattern tends to remain consistent across years, and practicing old papers will give you a clear edge
- Brush up on post-specific knowledge — the Mains exam may include subject-specific questions relevant to your chosen post, especially for JFTA (Fisheries) and JFA (Forensic Science)
- Do not skip Computer Knowledge — it is explicitly required for the Amin post and is commonly tested across all OSSC CHSL papers
- 10+2 Mark Sheet and Certificate from a recognized Board
- Caste/Category Certificate — must be issued by the competent authority in Odisha if claiming SEBC/SC/ST reservation
- Age Proof — 10th Class Certificate or Birth Certificate
- Computer Skill Certificate — mandatory for the Amin post
- Swimming Proficiency Certificate — required for JFTA candidates
- PwD Certificate — if claiming disability reservation, issued by a government medical board
