This is a hospital-based contractual assignment under the Government of West Bengal, with the work divided among broad patient-care specialties and diagnostic or academic units.

- General Surgery: surgical ward, operating-room and patient follow-up work.
- General Medicine: inpatient and outpatient medical care under the department's senior doctors.
- Haematopathology: blood and marrow diagnostic support, reporting and coordination with treating teams.
- Gastroenterology: specialty care for patients with digestive-system conditions and related procedures.
- Microbiology: laboratory support for organism identification, infection control and clinical reporting.
- Pathology: specimen evaluation, diagnostic reporting and coordination with clinical departments.
- Pharmacology: academic and medicine-related support within the medical college department.
