The recruitment covers Assistant Professor Grade II, Assistant Professor Grade I, Associate Professor and Professor posts. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization.
• UG and PG requirement: You should have the matching B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc/BS and M.E./M.Tech/M.Sc/MS/MBA/PGDM background for the department you choose.
• First Class: Candidates should have First Class in UG and PG degrees. If class is not printed, 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA will be treated as First Class.
• Nationality: Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders can apply.
• Women candidates: NITK has specifically encouraged women candidates to apply.

Age Limit

• The notification does not prescribe a fixed upper age limit for all faculty posts.
• Fresh appointments beyond 60 years are encouraged only for distinguished candidates with an impactful industry-oriented R&D career and ongoing or approved externally funded projects.
• The cut-off date for eligibility is the online application closing date.

Salary

• Assistant Professor Grade II: Pay Level 10, starting around Rs. 57,700 per month
• Assistant Professor Grade I: Pay Level 12, starting around Rs. 1,01,500 per month
• Associate Professor: Pay Level 13A2, Rs. 1,39,600 to Rs. 2,11,300
• Professor: Pay Level 14A, Rs. 1,59,100 to Rs. 2,20,200
• You will also get DA, TA, Children's Education Allowance, LTC/HTC benefits and other allowances as per Central Government and Institute rules.

Application Fee

• General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 2,500 inclusive of GST for each application
• SC / ST / PwD: Rs. 1,250 inclusive of GST for each application
• Payment can be made online or through NEFT/RTGS to the NITK Surathkal account mentioned in the notification.
• You must mention the application number and candidate name during payment and enter the UTR in the portal.

Selection Process

The selection process is based on shortlisting, presentations and interview. NITK may restrict the number of candidates based on academic record, experience, credit points and department requirements.

1. Application Scrutiny: The Screening Committee checks eligibility, specialization and uploaded documents.
2. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on credentials, work experience, research output and department needs.
3. Teaching and Research Presentation: Shortlisted candidates are invited to present before the Institute.
4. Personal Interview: Final selection is through interview before the Selection Committee.
5. Document Verification: Original certificates, NOC and vigilance clearance, if applicable, must be produced at interview.
