The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at NIT Andhra Pradesh has released an advertisement for 1 Senior Research Fellow (SRF) post under the sponsored research project "Deep Learning enabled Autonomous Drone based Crop Monitoring", funded by the NMICPS Technology Innovation Hub on Autonomous Navigation (TiHAN Foundation, IIT Hyderabad). This is a purely temporary, 6-month position that involves analyzing and simulating algorithms, then implementing them on real hardware like UAVs for agriculture monitoring. It is a strong opportunity for Computer Science graduates who want hands-on research experience in drones, machine learning, and agri-tech before pursuing a PhD or an academic career. Candidates with a strong Computer Science background and prior research experience should apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering AND an M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (or a relevant specialization).
• Eligibility Test: You must have qualified CSIR-UGC NET (including Assistant Professorship/lectureship) or GATE, or a national-level exam conducted by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and its agencies/institutions such as UGC, IIT, IISc, IISER, or IIIT.
• Experience: You need 2 years of research experience and at least 1 SCI publication to your name.
• Desired Skills: Good knowledge of programming and operating drones, control algorithms, machine learning, and hardware implementation, with a background in Computer Science, Drones, Agriculture Monitoring, or Electronics.

Age Limit

• There is no upper age limit for this post, and no age relaxation is applicable since there is no age cap to relax against.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get Rs. 42,000 per month as emoluments.
• You are also eligible for on-campus hostel and mess facilities, subject to availability.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection happens through an interview only:

1. Application Screening: Your application and bio-data will be screened against the eligibility criteria listed above.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will attend an interview, which may be conducted online or offline.

If the interview is conducted online, make sure you have a good internet connection. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, and the list of eligible/shortlisted candidates will be announced on the institute website and also intimated by email or phone.
