NIT Agartala Faculty Recruitment 2026 - 32 Posts

The National Institute of Technology Agartala (NITA), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, has released advertisement No.F.NITA.2(545-Estt)/2022/1450 dated 23.02.2026 inviting online applications for direct recruitment to 22 Associate Professor and 10 Professor posts. Selection is on direct recruitment basis with no written exam — only research presentation and interview.

Who Can Apply?

You need to meet the educational qualifications, experience and credit point requirements as per Schedule "E" of the First Statutes of NIT (Amendment Statutes, 2023) notified in the Gazette of India dated 17 July 2023.

• Qualification: Ph.D. in the relevant discipline with consistently good academic record
• Specialization: Must match the area of specialization required for the chosen department (see Annexure-I of the official notification)
• Experience: As prescribed for Professor / Associate Professor under Schedule-E (NITA serving faculty considered if posts not filled)
• Credit points and academic achievements as per the NIT recruitment rules

Salary

• Professor: Pay Level 14A (Rs. 1,59,100 - 2,20,200) as per 7th CPC
• Associate Professor: Pay Level 13A2 (Rs. 1,39,600 - 2,11,300) as per 7th CPC
• Plus DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Government of India norms
• Higher starting pay may be offered to deserving candidates on the recommendation of the Selection Committee

Selection Process

1. Round 1 - Scrutiny: Based on recruitment rules for the post
2. Round 2 - Shortlisting: Higher short-listing criteria; may include written test, research presentation and additional norms
3. Round 3 - Document Verification & Research Presentation
4. Round 4 - Interview before the Selection Committee

Note: Recruitment is on direct selection basis. The Institute may call candidates directly for presentation and interview without any written test.
