The Department of Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh is building the support team for the Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE) serving Leh. This contractual drive brings coaching, athlete-performance, recovery and sports-medicine work under one notice. The mix of leadership and specialist roles makes it suitable for experienced sports professionals as well as trained support staff who want to work closely with competitive athletes.

Posts and Disciplines

• High-Performance Director: leads the centre's performance programme and connects coaching plans, sports science and long-term athlete development.
• Head Coach, Athletics: takes charge of athletics coaching, competition preparation and the development of both athletes and support coaches.
• Physiologist: supports training through human, medical or exercise physiology and helps the team understand athlete response and recovery.
• Masseur: provides sports massage and recovery support; the notice includes opportunities for both male and female practitioners.
• Doctor, Sports Injury and Management Team: handles sports-medicine input, injury care and research-led medical guidance for the centre.

Post-wise Duties

High-Performance Director

You will shape the centre-wide performance strategy, align specialists around athlete goals and turn evidence into practical training decisions. The role also calls for leadership across coaches, staff and other stakeholders.

Head Coach, Athletics

You will plan athletics training, review progress and prepare players for national and international competition. You will also mentor support coaches and introduce suitable coaching methods and technology.

Physiologist

You will assess how athletes respond to exercise, support training-load and recovery decisions, and share clear findings with the coaching and medical teams.

Masseur

You will provide sports massage and recovery sessions, coordinate with coaches around training schedules and flag concerns that need medical attention.

Doctor, Sports Injury and Management Team

You will guide injury management, support safe return-to-play decisions and contribute to sports-medicine research and development connected with the team.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: the engagement runs for four years, remains tied to the Khelo India scheme and depends on satisfactory periodic reviews.
• Status: the appointment is contractual and gives no claim to permanent employment in the department.
• Leave: staff receive leave on a pro-rata basis; unused leave lapses and excess absence is unpaid.
• Facilities: no joining or completion travel allowance, accommodation, residential phone, transport, medical reimbursement, HRA or LTC is provided.
• Confidentiality: selected staff must protect information learned through the assignment and follow the Official Secrets Act.
• Termination: unsatisfactory performance can lead to discontinuation with notice, while misconduct or breach of conditions can bring immediate termination.
• Interview cost: shortlisted applicants attend the interview at their own expense, and applying for more than one post does not result in separate interviews.

Regular government or autonomous-body employees should include their employer's no-objection certificate. Permanent Sports Authority of India employees have a separate internal route described in the notice, while contractual SAI staff use the advertised process.
