Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad has released Advertisement No. 01/Project staff/2026 dated 27 May 2026 for one Project Scientist in the GIS Cell. The position is linked to a Government of India, MeitY funded project on Scientific High Performance Computing. The appointment is purely temporary and will follow the funding agency rules and Research & Consultancy Cell service conditions.

The initial appointment is for 12 months. It may be extended up to one more year, subject to release of funding from the agency and project requirements.

Who this role suits: This post is best for candidates who can connect GIS, remote sensing, computer science, electronics and scientific computing with practical project work. Who Can Apply?

M.Tech / Equivalent Route

• Marks: Minimum 60% marks or CPI 6.5. For SC/ST/PwD, marks should not be below 55% or CPI 6.0.

Bachelor's Engineering Route

• Qualification: You need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Marks: Minimum 70% marks or CPI 7.5. For SC/ST/PwD, marks should not be below 65% or CPI 7.0.
• Experience: You need at least 2 years of research, teaching, design and development experience.

M.Sc / Equivalent Route

• Qualification: You need M.Sc or equivalent in GIS & Remote Sensing or Computer Science.
• Marks: Minimum 70% marks or CPI 7.5. For SC/ST/PwD, marks should not be below 65% or CPI 7.0.
• Experience: You need at least 2 years of research, teaching, design and development experience.

National Test Requirement

• NET/GATE route: The notice says candidates should be selected through CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship or GATE.
• Project fit: GIS, remote sensing, computer science, electronics, scientific computing and development experience will be useful for this role.

Age Limit

• Age limit: As per MeitY norms.
• Age relaxation: Upper age is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/PwD and other reserved categories as per Government of India rules.

Salary
