MCD Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Mata Gujri Hospital, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), is recruiting Senior Residents for its clinical departments in Tilak Nagar, New Delhi. Formerly called Tilak Nagar Colony Hospital, it is offering contractual residency appointments through a walk-in drive. The notice covers both empty positions and positions currently held by non-PG residents, with PG residents taking priority when suitable applicants are available.

Posts and Disciplines

• Anaesthesia: residency in the hospital’s anaesthesia department.
• Obstetrics and Gynaecology: residency within the women’s health specialty.
• Paediatrics: the department with the limited non-PG option described in the eligibility details.
• Emergency Medicine: residency within the emergency medicine specialty.
• Medicine: residency in the medicine department.
• Surgery: residency within the surgical specialty.
• Radiology: residency in the radiology department.
• Orthopaedics: residency within the orthopaedics specialty.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract period: Your first appointment lasts one year. For PG residents, extensions can be granted one year at a time up to three years, based on your work and conduct.
• Previous residency: Time already spent as a Senior Resident in other government hospitals normally counts towards the three-year limit. A separate list of applicants who have completed that period may be considered after the fresh list is exhausted, subject to a five-year overall limit.
• Non-PG replacement: If you join an available post through the non-PG route, a suitable PG resident selected later can replace you. Your contract then ends in favour of that PG resident.
• Private practice and transfers: Private practice is prohibited. You need permission from the competent authority for an inter-hospital or inter-institution transfer.
• Nature of appointment: The contract gives you no right to regular appointment. The notice excludes benefits attached to regular government service, including pension, provident fund, gratuity and accommodation.
• Ending the contract: The notice allows either side to end the appointment by giving 15 days’ salary. Gross misconduct or negligence can lead to termination without notice or payment instead of notice.
• Reservation: Government reservation rules apply. The disability provision relates to suitable non-surgical specialties within the advertised posts.
• Travel and changes: The hospital will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending. It may change the number of posts or withdraw the recruitment.

Report to the Administration Department, Mata Gujri Hospital, Block-11, near Tilak Nagar Metro Station, New Delhi-110018. Registration runs from 09:30 AM to 11:00 AM, and the interview session runs from 11:00 AM to 04:00 PM.

Your application must use the prescribed proforma and be handed in at the walk-in; other submission modes will not be accepted. If posts remain unfilled, the notice provides for further Thursday walk-ins, with remaining seats updated on the MCD website each Monday.
