Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Qualification: You must have B.Sc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing from a recognised institution.
• Experience: You need 1 year of experience. Professional, teaching, or research experience in Nursing is counted from the date of registration with the State Nursing Council.
• Registration: You must be registered with the State Nursing Council.
• Preferred qualification: M.Sc Nursing is desirable and will strengthen your profile.
• Domicile: You must be a domicile of UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

Important Conditions

• Application mode: IUST accepts only online applications through the university recruitment portal. Other modes are not accepted.
• Website updates: Written test date, interview schedule, corrigendum, and addendum will be uploaded on the IUST website. You should keep checking the portal after submitting the form.
• Work location: Selected candidates can be posted in any college, unit, section, or campus of the University.

• Substantive employees of J&K State Universities: Maximum age is 50 years.

Salary

• Pay Level: Level 6F
• Pay range: Rs. 40,800 to Rs. 1,29,200 per month
• You will also get allowances and service benefits as applicable under IUST and UT rules.
• Selected candidates will be covered under the New Pension Scheme (NPS).

Application Fee

• Application fee: Rs. 1,000 for candidates who are not exempted.
• PwD candidates: No application fee.

Selection Process

The selection has 100 marks in total.

1. Written Test: The written test carries 80 marks. IUST will notify the detailed syllabus and pattern separately.
2. Shortlisting for Interview: IUST will shortlist 20 candidates for one post and 5 candidates for every additional post.
3. Interview: The interview carries 20 marks.
4. Document Verification: You must show original qualification, experience, category, and registration documents during the interview process.

Appointment and Verification Notes

• Original documents: You must produce original qualification, experience, registration, domicile, and category certificates at the interview stage.
• Character and antecedents: Appointment will be completed only after IUST receives a satisfactory verification report from the relevant agencies or institutions.
• False documents: If any certificate or information is later found wrong, the service can be cancelled from the beginning.
• Number of posts: IUST can increase, decrease, defer, or not fill the advertised posts based on university requirements.
• Service rules: Selected candidates must follow university statutes, ordinances, regulations, service rules, and professional ethics for nursing faculty.
