Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), one of India's largest commercial undertakings and a Fortune Global 500 company, is hiring 405 Apprentices for its Marketing Division across the Northern Region. This is a fantastic opportunity for ITI holders, diploma engineers, and graduates looking to kickstart their career with a Maharatna PSU.

The apprenticeship covers 9 states and union territories -- Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. You will get hands-on industry training for 12 months at one of India's top energy companies, along with a competitive monthly stipend.

Total vacancies: 405 posts across all categories and states
Monthly stipend: Rs 8,200 to Rs 14,800 depending on your qualification level, plus Rs 2,500 additional from IOCL
Training duration: 12 months at IOCL Marketing Division locations
No exam or interview -- selection is purely merit-based on your qualification marks
Age limit: 18 to 24 years as on 31.12.2025, with relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC-NCL
Candidates with higher qualifications (BE, MBA, MCA, CA, ICWA, LLB or equivalent) are not eligible

The selection process is straightforward -- there is no written exam and no interview. IOCL will prepare a merit list based on the percentage of marks you scored in the prescribed qualification for the post. If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate gets preference. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification followed by a pre-engagement medical fitness test.

Focus on your percentage -- since selection is merit-based, your qualification marks are everything. Make sure your CGPA-to-percentage conversion is accurately reflected in your application
Register on the correct portal -- Trade Apprentices (ITI/DEO) must apply through NAPS at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in, while Technician and Graduate Apprentices must register on the NATS portal at nats.education.gov.in
Keep documents ready -- your matriculation certificate, qualification marksheets, caste certificate (if applicable), and Aadhaar-linked bank account details are all essential
Apply for only ONE discipline -- candidates applying for more than one discipline code will be rejected, so choose wisely based on your strongest qualification

Responsibilities

Undergo structured apprenticeship training for 12 months at IOCL Marketing Division locations across Northern Region
Learn practical skills in the assigned trade or discipline under the guidance of experienced IOCL professionals
Perform tasks and assignments as directed by the training supervisor in the respective department
Maintain training records and complete all required documentation during the apprenticeship period
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines applicable at IOCL installations and offices

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Matric with ITI (NCVT/SCVT) for Trade Apprentice; 3-year Diploma for Technician Apprentice; Graduation (BBA/BA/BCom/BSc) for Graduate Apprentice; Class 12 for DEO

Required Skills

Relevant ITI/Diploma/Degree qualification from recognized institution in full-time regular mode

Age Limit

18 - 24 years (as on 31 Dec 2025)

Age Relaxation:

SC/ST: 5 years
OBC-NCL: 3 years
PwBD (General): 10 years
PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
PwBD (OBC-NCL): 13 years

Salary & Compensation

Pay Scale

Statutory stipend as per Apprentices Act 1961 + Rs 2,500 additional from IOCL

Allowances

Rs 2,500 per month additional miscellaneous expenses from IOCL over and above statutory stipend. Part of Graduate/Technician Apprentice stipend disbursed by BOAT via DBT (Rs 4,500 for Graduate, Rs 4,000 for Technician). Medical reimbursement up to Rs 3,000 for pre-engagement medical tests.
