Who Can Apply?

Project Associate-I

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences, Master's degree in Natural Sciences, or B.Tech from a recognised university.
• Test score: You must have cleared CSIR/UGC-NET, GATE, JAM, or JEST and submit the scorecard with the application.
• Skills preferred: Fortran, C++, or Python, plus working knowledge of quantum field theory, particle physics, and core physics courses.

Project Assistant Posts

• ICMR project: Master's degree in Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry, or B.Tech/M.Tech from a reputed university or institute.
• ICMR project skills: Research work relevant to the project is needed, and machine learning or data science familiarity is desirable.
• Phytochemical project: Master's degree in Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Environmental Sciences, or Computational Biology with project-relevant research experience.
• Phytochemical project skills: Manual curation of biological datasets, chemical spaces, or network science is desirable.

Trainee Posts

• Administrative Trainee: Any bachelor's degree with first class, good English knowledge, MS-Office skills, email operations, and accounting procedure knowledge.
• System Trainee: B.Sc in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or IT, BCA, or B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, ECE, EEE, or IT with at least 60% aggregate marks.
• Pass-out year: Trainee applicants must have passed out during 2023, 2024, or 2025 only.

Age Limit

• Project posts: Less than 40 years of age as on the last date of receipt of applications.
• Trainee posts: Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on the last date of receipt of applications.
• Age date: Use 10 May 2026 as the application closing date for this notification.

Salary

• Project Associate-I: Rs. 32,500 for bachelor's degree without experience, Rs. 48,000 for bachelor's degree with 2 or more years of experience, or Rs. 48,000 for MSc/BE/BTech without experience.
• Project Assistant: Rs. 48,000 for less than 2 years of experience and Rs. 54,500 for more than 2 years of experience.
• Administrative Trainee: Rs. 20,000 per month as consolidated stipend.
• System Trainee: Rs. 20,000 per month as consolidated stipend.
• Allowances: The project salary and trainee stipend are consolidated and all inclusive.

Selection Process

1. Project posts: IMSc will shortlist applications and conduct an online interview for shortlisted applicants.
2. Administrative Trainee: Selection is through written test, computer typing test, and interview on the same day.
3. System Trainee: Selection is through written test, hands-on test, and interview on the same day.
