IITR Project Associate (Public Financial Management and Payment Systems) Recruitment 2026: Overview
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR) is recruiting a Project Associate (Public Financial Management and Payment Systems) for a research project at Roorkee. The opening forms part of a Gates Foundation-sponsored study of public finance, revenue mobilisation and economic growth, led by Dr. Manish K. Singh in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. Its focus is how public payments, transfers and revenue collection work, and how financial flows relate to the efficiency and transparency of government spending. You would join the project through a fixed-term research engagement.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Project appointment: The engagement is tied to the sponsored research project in the Humanities and Social Sciences department. Keep this project setting in mind when considering whether the role fits your plans.
- Tenure: The initial appointment lasts 12 months, with an extension of up to 12 months mentioned in the notice. Treat the extension as a possibility, rather than an assured longer appointment.

Research or work experience in public finance, public financial management, payment systems, financial economics, or applied econometrics; practical Python and R skills, quantitative analysis, and handling large administrative or financial datasets.
