Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) is recruiting a Manager Security to lead safety and access-control work across its Ahmedabad campus and surrounding areas. This is a full-time administrative role on the institute's Tenure Based Scaled Contract, reporting to the General Manager, Engineering Services and Estate. The position suits an experienced security professional who can combine firm supervision with calm coordination across students, staff, visitors, public officials and outside agencies.

The role reaches well beyond routine gate duty. You will oversee the people, systems and daily decisions that protect a busy residential academic campus, including event security, VIP movement, fire-safety readiness and incident response. You will also coordinate with local police, handle formal complaints for the institute when needed and help international students with FRRO registration. Sound judgement and discretion matter because the work can involve confidential reports, property incidents and sensitive campus situations.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract tenure: The first appointment is for three years and may be extended if the institute needs the role to continue.
• Reporting line: You will work under the General Manager, Engineering Services and Estate and provide regular operational updates, including a monthly security report.
• Language use: Fluency in Hindi and Gujarati is essential, while an intermediate working knowledge of English is also needed for records and communication.
• Work pattern: The post calls for the stamina to handle long hours and a fast-moving workload when events, emergencies or unusual incidents demand attention.
• Campus control: Your remit includes authorised movement of people, vehicles and materials, parking regulation, identity and gate passes, and searches designed to prevent theft.
