IIM Mumbai Data Scientist Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai) has released an advertisement for the post of Data Scientist at the Data Science Lab. The lab works on Supply Chain Optimization, Machine Learning in Operations, AI in Manufacturing, and Digital Supply Chains. Preference will be given to candidates from the top 20 NIRF institutes. The role is purely temporary for one year and may be extended based on performance.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

• You must have a Ph.D., M.Tech, M.S., Dual Degree or equivalent degree, OR
• A B.Tech with 2 years of experience
• The degree should be in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Scientific Computing or Industrial & System Engineering

Desirable Qualification

• Good quantitative background with proficiency in Optimization and Data Analytics
• Strong computation skills with experience in R and Python
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) is an added advantage

Required Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Self-motivated and able to work in a team
• Strong research and problem-solving aptitude

Salary

• Monthly consolidated salary in the range of Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 1,15,000 per month
• The actual amount will be fixed based on your qualifications, experience and the recommendation of the Selection Committee
• Preference will be given to candidates from the top 20 NIRF institutes

Selection Process

Selection is done through:

1. Screening of Applications: A screening committee shortlists eligible candidates
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview
