IIM Bangalore Academic Associate (Economics Area) Recruitment 2026

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), one of India's top management institutes and an Institute of National Importance under the IIM Act 2017, is looking for an Academic Associate in its Economics Area. This role is ideal if you have strong academic credentials and a long-term interest in pursuing doctoral studies in Economics. The position is initially for one year and can be extended up to three years, giving you valuable research and teaching experience at a premier institution. You will report to the Chairperson of the Economics Area.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a Master's degree in Economics from a reputed university or institute with a minimum of 55% marks.
• Preference: Candidates who completed their Master's degree in Economics within the last three years and have a clear interest in pursuing doctoral studies will be given priority.
• Freshers Welcome: Prior experience is desirable but not mandatory. Freshers with strong academic records can apply.

Stipend

• Selected candidate will receive an all-inclusive monthly stipend of Rs. 43,000 to Rs. 55,000 based on experience.
• This is a consolidated stipend — no separate allowances like DA or HRA are payable.

Selection Process

There is no written exam for this post. Selection will be done through:

1. Shortlisting: Applications will be screened based on academic qualifications, research interest, and relevance to the Economics Area. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
