IIITDM Kancheepuram Project Technical Support III Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Kancheepuram, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, is hiring a Project Technical Support III at its campus in Chennai. The post belongs to the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and is funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

You will work on a project to build a transvaginal probe-based dermatoscope with AI-enabled decision support for spotting cancers and infections. The project is led by Dr. Uttam Mrinal Pal, and the nature of work is research and development.

The skills the team lists as a plus show that this is a hands-on medical device role — mechanical design of the probe, simulations to prove it is safe, optical mounts, and wiring real-time AI models into machine vision cameras. If you have built hardware prototypes and also written Python vision code, you will stand out.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The post is purely contractual and runs only till 1 June 2027.
• HRA: The house rent allowance is paid only if the institute does not give you accommodation.
• Government employees: If you now work in a Central, State or Semi-Government body, a PSU or an autonomous body, submit an NOC from your present employer.
• In-person selection: You must come physically to IIITDM Kancheepuram, Chennai for the written test and/or interview. No TA/DA is paid.
• Written test syllabus: The topic and syllabus for the written test will be shared later by the institute.
• Certificates: Bring all your educational and experience certificates to the interview for checking.
